Raising money on my first half marathon, for a great cause!
Clay Gibbons
My Story
Approximately 1 in 2 people in the UK, will be diagnosed with cancer some point in their lifetime. I think it's safe to say every single person has been or know someone who has been affected with this terrible disease.
This year has a very challenging one for me on my own fitness journey, and I will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon in support of raising money for such a great cause.
All donations will be hugely appreciated and no donation will be too small. Thank you.
The route takes in all of the city’s most iconic landmarks including the Principality Stadium, Cardiff Bay, the Civic Centre and Cardiff Castle. Thousands of spectators turn out to cheer on the runners in a city renowned for its sporting passion.
It attracts a sell-out field of 27,500 runners each year and is truly a Race for Everyone; where world-class athletes run alongside charity fundraisers and first-time runners. In 2016 the event cemented its status as a globally recognised race when it played host to the World Half Marathon Championships. Now, with its spot on the SuperHalfs series, this already amazing event is set to go from strength to strength.
Running for charity at the Oysho Cardiff Half Marathon is one of the most rewarding experiences a runner can have, marked by over £20m being raised by thousands of runners over the history of the race.
